How to Report Faulty Starlink Equipment via the App
You are going to need an internet connection ( 4G or public Wi-Fi ):
- Open the Starlink app on your phone or tablet
- Tap Support at the bottom of the screen
- Select Troubleshooting
- Choose the category that best matches the issue (e.g., Dish Offline, No Internet, Hardware Fault)
- Follow the on‑screen steps until you reach “Still Need Help?”
- Tap Contact Support
- Select Equipment Issue / Faulty Hardware
- Add a brief description of the fault (e.g., “Dish not powering on”, “Router rebooting constantly”)
- Upload photos if relevant (Starlink often asks for these)
- Submit the ticket — Starlink will reply inside the app under Support → Messages
How to Check That Your Starlink Is Working Correctly
Open the Starlink App
Start by accessing the main dashboard where your system status is displayed.
- Ensure your phone is connected to Starlink WiFi if possible
- Wait a few seconds for the app to sync with your system
Check the System Status Banner
Quick Health Check
The top banner shows whether your Starlink is online and functioning normally.
- Look for Online, Searching, or Disconnected
- Green = working normally
- Orange/Red = issue detected
Run a Speed Test
Confirms your dish is online and delivering expected performance.
Dashboard → Speed Test
- Tap Run Test
- Check Download, Upload, and Latency
- Compare results to your usual speeds
Check for Obstructions
Obstructions can cause dropouts or slow speeds.
Dashboard → Obstructions
- Tap Check for Obstructions
- Review the sky visibility map
- Look for red or orange areas indicating blocked sky
Review Outages & Alerts
Starlink may be experiencing a temporary service interruption.
Dashboard → Notifications / Outages
- Check for regional outages
- Review any system alerts or warnings
Check Device Status
Confirms each component is powered and communicating correctly.
Dashboard → Devices
- Ensure Dish & Router show as Online
- Look for overheating or power warnings
Run the Built‑In Diagnostics
Starlink’s self‑test can identify faults automatically.
Support → Troubleshooting → Run Diagnostics
- Follow the prompts
- Review any recommended fixes
- If issues remain, the app will guide you to contact support
