How to Order, What to Expect & Why Choose WaveTech

How to Order Your Starlink Kit

Starlink equipment can only be purchased directly from Starlink, but the ordering process is quick and simple:

1, Visit the Starlink website (link below).

2, Choose Residential service.

3, Enter the postcode of the property where the system will be installed.

  • Select your service plan:
  • Standard (~100 Mbps typical)
  • Priority (~200 Mbps typical)

4, Priority Max (higher throughput for heavy users or businesses)

5, Complete the checkout and pay any fees.

6, The email and password you create will become your Starlink account login and your router login.

7, Your kit normally arrives within a few days.

Once it arrives, contact WaveTech Southwest to arrange your installation date.

What You’ll Receive & How It Works

Your Starlink kit includes everything needed to get online:

✔ Flat High‑Performance Starlink Dish (Antenna)

  • Uses advanced phased‑array technology to track satellites automatically.
  • Mounts onto a pole similar to a TV aerial.
  • Requires a completely unobstructed view of the sky — no trees, chimneys, or buildings blocking the line of sight.
  • Supplied with a 70ft (approx. 21m) cable to connect the dish to the router.
  • Longer cables are available if required.

✔ Starlink Router

Works like any standard Wi‑Fi router.

  • Should be installed in the area where you need the strongest Wi‑Fi signal.
  • Wi‑Fi performance reduces with distance, especially in:
  • Large homes
  • Thick stone walls
  • Outbuildings
  • Garden offices
  • Multi‑floor properties

If you need full coverage across your home or multiple buildings, you’ll benefit from a proper Wi‑Fi
system. We install professional-grade UniFi, Ruijie, and mesh systems that integrate perfectly with Starlink.

Why Choose Wavetech Instead of Starlink’s Low‑Cost Installers

Starlink offers a low‑priced “basic installation” when you order your kit — but here’s what actually happens:

  • The job is passed to a large national contractor.
  • That contractor then passes it again to local subcontractors.
  • Those installers are given a tight budget and strict time limit, meaning:
  • They must finish quickly to make the job worthwhile.
  • They cannot spend time choosing the best mounting location.
  • Cable routing is often basic and not aesthetically considered.
  • There is no aftercare, no support, and no help with Wi‑Fi coverage.

  • ✔ We install using proper fixings, tidy cable routing, and long‑lasting hardware
  • ✔ We listen to your concerns and tailor the installation to your property.
  • ✔ We provide aftercare and support — we’re local, and you can call us anytime.
  • ✔ We can integrate Starlink into a full-property Wi‑Fi system for complete coverage.
  • ✔ We can help you share the connection with a neighbour or outbuilding if needed.
  • ✔ 25+ years of experience in AV, networking, Wi‑Fi, CCTV, alarms, and rural broadband.

Starlink gives you the hardware. WaveTech makes it work properly — reliably, neatly, and professionally.
